Galapagos, An Island That Will Surprise You

Galapagos islands are volcanic islands located in the Pacific Ocean, divided on the both side of Equator, and officially part of the Republic of Ecuador. These islands are well-known for its endemic species, which are included in Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural species.

When to go

The busiest months for tourism are June, July, and August, as well as December and January (when prices are at the highest level). The rainy season of December through May is when the ocean is calmest, and temperatures are in the 80s.

The cooler season is in June through November, when the cooler temperatures tend to be in the 70s. This time the seas are much rougher, but divers believe this is the best time to see the fantastic marine life, also this is the right time for visitors to spot the whale sharks at Wolf and Darwin islands.

Where to stay

If you are arriving at Quito airport, then check out Mansion Del Angel, a 14-fourtheen room hotel with quiet gardens, tasteful buffet breakfast, and actually a hotel with a 10-minutes walk from the tourist area. If flying into Guayaquil, then Hotel Oro Verde Guayaquil, is the right option, which offers a free shuttle to the hotel, and it has the best service.

Most tours in Galapagos begin and end in Santa Cruz, if you want to spend an extra day in Galapagos then you should stay at Finch Bay Eco Hotel, which has own beach, where you can swim, kayak or snorkel.

The real question is what happens in Galapagos?

For sure, people are entitled to say it’s magnificent. There you can swim with sea lions, play with those giant tortoises, and see these giant land iguanas. It’s wonderful indeed.

So here is what happens daily in Galapagos:

Mornings

A beautiful sunrise will wait for you at 6.30 in the morning. The Galapagos magic you can feel way too early in the morning, and it will make you excited for the upcoming day. Here is a tip: you will wake up with a smile on your face. Normally if you are home there would be at least three snooze alarms to wake you up, but eventually, this is not the case.

Usually, you will probably spend one and a half hour for breakfast, and to prepare yourself for the adventures that Galapagos offers you.  For example, a perfect way to start your day is by hiking down the island, and not bumping in other tourists.

The wildlife is also a thing to remember, for example, Galapagos is the only place in the world to see Marine Iguanas, but, if you choose, as a morning activity to see the flora and fauna in Galapagos, surely you wouldn’t make a mistake.

Afternoon

In the Galapagos, you should keep your eyes widely open, because there is always some action happening in the nature. In the hotels, there is always different buffet selection, and there is regularly seafood available. The menu can be different every day, but there is always seafood in option.

Things to do:

Snorkeling

If you want to experience the underwater wildlife in Galapagos, then your choice should be snorkeling. Wetsuits are also available because the waters of Galapagos is so cold. Here you can see the most wonderful sight because if you are lucky enough you would see these calm creatures-Eagle Rays. Also swimming with the sea-lion is an exceptional moment and not uncommon one.

Diving

While diving on Galapagos islands, on Wolf and Darwin islands, you might see whale sharks, eagle rays, hammerhead sharks, jack fish and much more.

Kayaking – here you can rent kayaks without a guide at Tortuga Bay in Santa Cruz, and explore those beautiful colors of Galapagos.

Hiking

On the other hand, if you don’t like these water moments you can try hiking in Galapagos. The best one is hiking around Sierra Negra, the earth’s second biggest crater, on this huge island Isabela.

Dinner time

Except you’ve spent a wonderful day, this is the time for a gorgeous sunset. On the menu in restaurants, as I said early, seafood is always available, but this is the right time to recollect your memories from the day early.

If you choose Galapagos as your destination, daily moments will be remembered as one of the most magnificent ones.
